About The Knowledge Innovation Center

The Knowledge Innovation Center(KIC) and the University of Arizona Global Campus (UAGC) have formed a strategic alliance to deliver a variety of “continuing education” options ancillary to degree programs. Every KIC course is PLA accredited by the University and is focused on in-demand skills development.

The KIC is unique by virtue of its relationships with industry experts as well as its affiliation with the Forbes School of Business and Technology and the College of Arts and Sciences at UAGC. As a result of these alliances, certificates earned through the KIC can also be applied as academic credit toward University degree programs. The trends are clear: ancillary to degree programs, a significant number of learners are seeking certificates, certifications, and badges that can be immediately applied to achieve career and personal goals.

The KIC is well positioned to meet the skill development needs industry requires of employees, and students desire to differentiate themselves. President, CEO & Founder

Dr. Ray Powers

President and CEO of the Knowledge Innovation Center (KIC), an alliance partner with the University of Arizona Global Campus, the Forbes School of Business and Technology, and the College of Arts and Sciences.  Together the University and the KIC have launched a continuing education option for certificates, certifications, and badges that provide new skills or enhance current knowledge to the mutual benefit of individuals and enterprise. Dr. Powers served as an Associate Dean and is the founder and chair emeritus of the business school Board of Advisors.  His previous business experience includes 30 years at AT&T/Bell System, followed by C-Level roles in more entrepreneurial ventures.

Dr. Paula Zobisch

Dr. Zobisch has over 20 years’ experience in the marketing and entrepreneurship fields. Dr. Zobisch was the director of marketing for a 3M distributor and was a national leader in sales and sales training. Dr. Zobisch has been an independent marketing consultant and worked with small businesses from every walk of life. Dr. Zobisch is a veteran of the U. S. Army.

Amanda Jones

Amanda Jones is an experienced corporate partnerships leader with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education sector for over 8 years. In addition to higher education, Amanda has depth of experience across several industries, including legal, healthcare (human & veterinary medicine), marketing, event planning, real estate, and retail. She is highly skilled in building strategic partnerships, project and operations management, process design and implementation, budgeting, accounting, organization strategy implementation, and website development. Amanda obtained her bachelor’s degree in Justice Studies at Arizona State University in 2006. She then obtained her Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus in Finance degree from Ashford University in 2014.

Jim Jeremiah

Jim Jeremiah is a Professor and Lead Faculty of the Forbes School of Business & Technology at UAGC. Dr. J’s background also includes business positions as an accountant, controller of a mortgage banking company, Chief Financial Officer, Vice-President of Marketing, Director of Business Development, Regional Sales Manager, Consultant, and CEO. Jim has worked with profit and non-profit organizations as well as higher education institutions. Jim’s doctorate is in organizational leadership, and he has two master’s degrees and over 35 years of education experience as an instructor, Director of Curriculum, College Chair, Director of Academic Affairs, V-P of Academic Affairs, Provost, and Interim President.

Michael Hayden

Michael Hayden has a professional background that includes over 30 years of experience in education, information technology, network administration, security/cybersecurity, entrepreneurship, and business management. He is retired from the United State Marine Corps, after 21 years of service. He has founded several companies focused on addressing customer’s data-intensive decisions in technology, network security, IT management, finance, shipping, and purchasing. Additionally, he has earned numerous IT certificates and certifications: Computer Information Systems- Networking Concentration, Python, Java, CPP, A Plus, Network Plus, Security Pro, Cisco CCNA Instructor, Linux Pro, Cyber Security, HTML5, CSS3, Web development, MS Server 2012 Pro, MS Desktop Pro, and ITF. His personal hobbies are competitive programming, learning about new technologies, reading tech blogs and magazines, and learning new computer languages and skills. He works with many entrepreneur centers, veteran and women’s leadership organizations, serving as an adviser and angel investor in teams developing technology ventures. Michael also serves as a chapter advisor for the Association for Computing Machinery.
